Cam choice for 2011 CVO Streetglide
« on: January 06, 2013, 08:32:50 AM »

Looking for another 10hp/10ft-lbs.  Have SERT and Kerker 4" Stouts getting 115ft-lbs.  I'm not 100% certain which cam is in there 257?
Head work would be the next thought as well.
Does anyone have any experience of what works or what was money thrown away for no gain?  Preference to low end torque, right now 3000rpm seems to be the sweet spot.

I don't want to go radical, i want reliability on the highway.

To move into the 120+ range torque is not that hard with stock heads. 120+hp isn't hard either but takes a comprehensive approach where all the components are working together and will cost more.
Actually the HD Stage 3 kit with head work will get you there even with the SE259 cam. A larger TB will be needed as well as injectors and the clutch will need a little attention.

I've had the bike for a year, i know all the 88cuin builds, but not familiar with the 110 engine build.  Is the 259 the OEM cam in that build?
Have good guy to port and polish the heads.  What clutch work should i consider?

The stock cam in a 2011 is a 255.

It isn't that hard to get the heads to 87cc by milling, do the math on the online calculators

I had .060 milled off mine and still had 93cc I just don't think there could have been anymore milled off to get to 87cc.
