Non CVO Breakout
« on: January 06, 2013, 02:21:29 PM »

Just curious what everyone's opinion is on this.  CVO has never created a new bike before now. So do they put it into production next year as a non CVO. I'm going with no. Seems to me like they just decided to play what if and see what it would be like if the VROD and a softail had a child. I've had a fat boy lo and a vrscf and breakout seems like a cross between the two. Thoughts?

I would say the Destroyer, and maybe the FXR2/3/4 would have been considered non-production based as well, but that's just me.

I think they were just looking to use up the old Rocker parts.

I think it was to get rid of the extra Rocker stuff laying around.  It will probably be a 1 year bike.

09 CVO Springer uses the same rear frame. I'm glad these came out, hopefully some exhaust options come since this frame doesn't seem to be going away.

FWIW: The Destroyer was a factory and selected vendor "purpose built" bike exclusively for drag racing. 1 year only 632 made.

What about the CVO Softail Convertible For 2010 FLSTSE/2011 FLSTSE2/2012 FLSTSE3?  Not offered in the regular softail line those years, or now.  Been a long time since it was offered and it was not like this one at all with bags, floor boards and such.

I stand corrected. Sounded like Jeff Smith was trying to say that Breakout was first CVO created bike that wasn't previously in production, but he was actually talking about some of the firsts they included on this bike.

I think it's a bad ass looking bike.

But, am I tempted to get one?  No...

Heard a rumor from the poolboys cousin at the local dealer --- the Breakout (non CVO) will be a 2013.5 model released in late February...
