Yea - that oil cooler doesn't help much when no air is going through it...

I know for some of those folks that are often in traffic with their big twins I would suggest the Motor-Co's "Parade Fan" that replaces the horn (don't remember where it is relocated too) with a fan that blows over the jugs or a third party such solution.

Decided to break the law and do a "gutter ball" ride for the remaining 15 miles just to get air over the engine.  Put my flashers on and "cruised" at 25 MPH for the next 15 miles.

Just bought an '07 SE Ultra Classic...ran hot in traffic upon initial purchase, thought Rineharts and a tuner would help but still seems to run extremely hot in any traffic, ran to Vegas last weekend and unit was in limp mode after sitting in traffic for only 20 minutes. Dealer says "haven't heard of problems"...anyone experience the same?

The tuner you are talking about.. Is it a Screamin Eagle Race Tuner.. If it is a SERT and map #84 was used it's still to lean. HD has this mapping running mostly in the 14.6 to 1 ( air to fuel ) . Needs to be closer to 13.2 to 1  Also the newest version of the race tuner allows the EIMTS to be turned on. It's located under Tuning Advance Mode - Table Selection - ECM tuning Constants.

May not want to do that as it'll probably run 'hotter' be more detrimental to a air/oil cooled engine.  :( spyder

A local police department tried the parade fans and all of the officers hated them. They said it would blow the engine heat right on your leg and it would bake them.
I don't know how well they helped the bike but I guess they did. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
Seems like it would blow the hot air right into your air intake too? Unless it pulled heat away.
I wonder about the info Harley mentions in the catalogue, it used to say something to the effect about - now with an improved/stronger mounting system. I wonder if the fan has a problem with vibration and breaking the mount or connections?

I think Dad (CPRKING) got a download for the SERT from somebody here that has tuned individual heads for a touring bike.  He is running nearly the same setup as I am so this is going to be nice when I get the SERT installed....

Keep them cool with a few of the aftermarke fans that blow over the oil raditor...  They have some nice ones out there...

Add a Parade fan and life should be ok...

Just remember to give her some revs or the oil won't flow to be cooled...

Or just keep a riding... :)
