Pics of TP rack.
« on: January 21, 2013, 03:13:18 AM »

I finally got around to making a TP rack to get it off the floor in the corner where it was gonna get hurt some day. Cost me nothin'....scrap wood, a few screws, and some tube, all-thread, washers and nuts from work.

The main reason I finally built it is that I did not want to install the Ultra Brace while it was on the bike....and it's awkward on a bench. I made it so it mounts in a Work-Mate.

Here it is installed...lowest 'head hitter' is about 6'8" above the floor. Also added a couple 1/4" bolts for the seat retainer knobs and a captive nut for the two up seat fastener.

Looks real good and a whole lot less than the Harley rack.

At first I'm thinking toilet paper rack....a HUGE toilet paper rack...

I like the simplicity!   :2vrolijk_21:

Did a similar thing with my detach backrest and rack to mount between two exposed wall studs. $5 and 20 minutes and it was done. Now just need it to get above -4 to install it.

Here is the one I had a buddy weld up for me.  Just some angle iron and round stock.

You  gotta love the ingenuity! I used to have a detachable tour-pak on my FLHTC and I built a shelf to hold it with slots cut for the cams and hooks on the rack.  It was a pain to lift the thing overhead to get it out of the way.  The pak racks here look like they are way better than what I had! :2vrolijk_21:
