May he continue to rest in peace. It should slowly get easier as more time passes. But to help, you do know that your remembrance of him and what a great brave person he was will continue to warm his soul. Remembrance is painful for us on earth, but when you forget is when I think it brings sadness to the souls of those we've lost. Stay strong and always remember your friend. Best wishes to you on this sad day.

It would say much less of you if you DID forget. Not that his friendship gets less........your memory of him gets stronger.

Thank you everyone. John was one hell of a good fireman. He should have never died in that fire. He was the last one to exit when things went south and never made it. he fell through a hole in the floor and the Incident Commanders never knew till 20 minutes later. By then it was too bad inside to go back in and look for him. He was carrying a defective portable radio that had been reported numerous times over two weeks prior to this fire. I heard the tapes the next day. You could hear a radio keying up and once we heard him yell that 14 was in the basement. He was a GREAT person, family and firefighter. He is still missed after all of these years.

Be Safe

Hey Dawg:

Just spotted this and want you to know how sorry I am for the loss of your friend.  It's especially difficult knowing he was there to help save lives and it cost him his.  My sincere prayers and condolences to all of those who knew and loved John.  God bless.
