I think it would be safe to say that most of the folks that have been through the "seat gap" issue

have fixed it by ways of an aftermarket seat. Corbin, C&C, etc, will take care of it and the

ride is so much better too!

Good Luck,

One of the early fixes was a seat tab about 5/8" longer...

I may still have some but you will have to drill the holes to the seat. (they are already marked for drilling)

Gotta use the search feature.. you will probably find the pics still up

Here is the service bulletin... includes some bumpers on the frame rail http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=61451.0

The original posts from 2009... check on pages 3 and 4 I think...

I extended my mounting tab to push the seat forward about 1/2". I also bought the frame rail supports but I didn't like them for some reason. I think they made my seat feel funny. I ended up buying a CVO street glide seat that fits a lot better.

you should not have had to buy the rail supports... the TSB indicates the supports, then the seat replacement if required.

Mine worked with the tab (5/8" forward) reshaping the tongue of the seat and the supports...

Eventually the seat pan did crack with 30K, and the dealer still did a goodwill replacement.

While I was waiting for the new seat, I got a deal on a seat for an SESG.... that was nice too... but it still needed the supports...( felt better for me)

Aclass nice looking chopper you got there !!!,  Might have to try a C&C seat, I did notice you have extended highway peg's

and tall bars, how tall are you ? I like the bar's but at 5' 6" dont think they will work.

Thanks Ohiophil

Phil,

I have both a C&C Solo (my favorite saddle) and a 2 up Sports Touring seat. They work very well for me.

Although when we hooked up in NC, I had the Sundowner on. Mama likes the Sundowner more.

I think it's due to that the Sports Touring rear is not broken in yet to her liking.

You will be fine with either set up.

Ride Safe,

Thanks OhioPhil,   I'm 75" in length and the 12" bars are NOT too tall. It puts my arms nearly level with this seat.
BTW, I doubt that I will ever install another set of PY bars like this. It was the worst job ever.
Stay warm.

Thanks guy's,   At 5'6" those bars are out but man they do look good, Yellowbird how u doing ? I did pick up a tour pack and got a new dresser seat off a 2012 ultra guy was at the dealer buying the bike and wanted a tall seat so I offered him $100 and he took it, and yep Deb likes it, Ill just use it on trips or when she's  behind me she's liking this FXR and back on the front.....  ;)
