Front Brake Drag
« on: February 14, 2013, 12:07:36 PM »

Just wonderingwith front wheel off the ground, how much brake drag should I be getting on the front wheel with the constant contact pads?  I can spin my front wheel about 1/2 turn prior to the pads stopping the rotation of the wheel. Is this about normal for new pads and rotors? Thanks.

My '07 drags more than my '12.  About like you described - and the pads have several thousand miles on them.

Thanks for backup. It has been so long since I actually did a spin test that I had forgotten what was normal. I did check for excessive heat after riding for a few blocks. When stopped rotors felt a little hot from friction but not too hot to leave your fingers on the rotors.
