After 3 1/2 yrs on the factory battery, it finally died. Many days doing research on the site and evaluating many comments, wound up with the Interstate battery. Seems after install, bike must have been running on minimum voltage before.

Thanks for all who post with all issues. Makes it easy for a decision...

3 years is pretty good! Do you have it on a trickle charger? I plug mine in all year long.

I had an '04 RK before my '11 SERGU and the check engine light would come on after hard acceleration. I had it to the delaer twice and a diagnostic showed no issues. I changed the battery as it was starting to start slowly and pooof, no more check engine light!

Never had a trickle charger on it, just rode regularly. I thought is was pretty good service for a stock battery w/ no tender.

I had one in my 2000 for 8 years. I only replaced it because I thought it was time  :-\

I had one in my 2003 FLHTC for 9 years and did the same before a trip since it was starting to get weak. Kept in the bike all season and in the winter removed it and rotated on and off the trickle charger with my wife's evo battery every few weeks.

Doubt if I will ever see one last that long again. :-\

What did Interstate charge for the new one?
any tips on the swap out to help with resetting everything?
I am going on 4 years and just want to be ready when I feel I need a new one.

The new sealed gel batteries seem to last at least 4 years in seasonal areas if one uses a battery tender.  I keep mine on the tender all year when not riding.  Have had good luck with stock batteries.  Yuasa has a good rep. and is made in USA.  Deka maks the HD batteries in PA

At the local Interstate Store, it was 174 tax inc. I googled the swap and disconnected the neg first then pos and installed opposite. Everything came out fine, no alarms...

Thank you!
I have a Battery tender now I did not keep it on during the summer and around November it was low.  I charged it up and all is good...well its winter in Colorado so we see when it warms up.  I don't want to wait till it fails.  These bikes are not like a Road King these use the juice...I wonder if my 200+watt stereo has anything to do with it...*haha

I found out the hard way. Left Ign on at a friends house for about an hour and drained the battery. Had a brilliant idea to push start, but with no luck, had to disassemble and charge battery on bike. Thankfully we were at a place to do so...

Not like the old days, can't bump start bikes with ECM and electronic ignition.  Jump start or recharge the battery.
