Wiring Power Supply for Zumo 660 on a SERK
« on: March 19, 2013, 10:57:04 AM »

I am looking for some guidelines on Wiring the power to a Zumo 660 Unit on my SERK

I have decided to go with this
92115-09 Garmin Zumo GPS 660 Navigator
76000191 - Chrome Handlebar Mount for Zumo 660
76569-09 - Bluetooth Wireless 2.9 Helmet System

My SERK has the Clutch Cable, Horn, HiBeam and Turn Signal all run through the handle bars. I would like to keep it neat and clean with the Zumo Power Supply as well.

I do not see any real clear instructions on the Zumo 660 Page for installing the power supply.

Can someone please give me some clear pointers as to how and where to run the powwer supply wires?

Also a question: What size SD memory Card is everyone using?

Many Thanks

Not sure this will help, but I went directly to www.garmin.com, rooted around, and found my answer.  However, my SEUC came already wired/installed.

From what I have read on the Zumo promo Pages, The Unit holds 20 Routes.
If I get and SD Card, I have the ability to move any of the Allowed 20 Routes in the Unit to the SD Card and replace any of those 20 Routes with a New Route I have stored on The SD Card.

Is this Unit normally powered from the after Accessorie Plug, Left hand switch?

Can it be run into the Nacelle from a handlebar opening and tied into power there?

I am not much help, but here goes :

I use a 16g sandisk sd card, my wires are on the outside of the left handle bars and ran into the handle bar opening to the power source

Have you tried moving one of the 20 Routes to the SD Card and visa versa?

Thanks
I have discovered that a Zumo 660 can take up to and 8GB SD, as recommended by Garmin
I am looking at page 20 in the Zumo 660 Manual
It looks like you need a DeskTop or LapTop to move files around from the Unit memory and an SD Card

I belong to 2 HOG Chapters and plenty of Scheduled Rides for the year. Some as a Road Captain.
I like to ride the routes shortly before the ride are scheduled.
Also my Neigbors and I ride sveral times a week.
Also Annual Charity Rides.

:0) - Used to sailing the 7 Seas where I kept a Vast Library of Way Points and Routes.

If I go Free Ridin, I do not use a GPS, I just pick a road and then another and another.
