Just wondering if any Canadians have chosen to purchase their Extended Warranty from a U.S. H-D Dealer rather than from a Canadian H-D Retailer?

There is a very large price difference in doing so, and I have heard different things as to how valid the warranty is if I decide to do the same...

Of course I have heard the stories that if I purchase a bike south of the border that it won't be covered... But that is from CND Harley Retailers for obvious reasons.

I was recently told by a Canadian H-D Retailer (who sells lots of US bikes) that there is no problem purchasing my warranty from a US Harley Dealer and no problem with warranties no matter where you purchase your bike.

I would like to hear from those who have done this and their experiences involved with it.

Do you have no problem getting warranty work done in Canada or do you have to get service in the States?

I also heard that US Dealers hate working on Canadian bikes because they do not get full payment for work from the MoCo???

This makes no sense to me.

My US bike came with the extended service plan purchased by the PO in the US and I've had a few things...about $1000 worth done by an indy shop here in nanaimo with no issues.

I ended up purchasing my warranty from my local dealer to avoid any and all possible concerns.
