I bought the $10.95 antenna from Brad of Freedom Cycles during Sturgis. Due to my very scentific testing, it works the same as the $4.95 unit from Discount A/P. Testing was done in my driveway, using a weak station and trying both antennas, no difference. Using a Ford Focus mast though did pick-up quality. Reception went from poor (no stereo indicator) to clear with Stereo indicator on. I have never used my HD antenna, dealer wrapped it in bubble wrap and it has been in the attic ever since so I have no data on how it compares.
FYI.

Here is a pic of the Freedom Cycles Antennaes...

I put these on my bike and made up the SWR meter mentioned in another thread.  These are adjusted by the nurled ring and I could not get them into the proper range.  Did not want to risk damage to CB while transmitting.  Beagle's point is accurate, DON'T cut down your stock and transmit.  I tested my stock CB antennae and it indicated it required adjustment which means you start cutting small amounts from the antennae (no ring adjustment on stock antennae).  There is a local shop here in Phoenix that will do this but I have not had time to stop by.  The dealer is not much help with SWR testing.
I'm used to the whips now anyway.

My mate Bill bought a $40 CHROME antenna from rapid city h-d whilst we were in sturgis, looks nice and works ok, screws straight on where the stock antenna goes [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif]
