International shipping
« on: May 01, 2014, 09:20:29 AM »

I have some 255 cams for sale on a couple other forums. I got a PM about sending them off to a guy in Italy. I have never shipped overseas so I checked USPS priorities website and it is showing if I ship them in the small priority box the price would be $23.50. Does anyone have experience shipping internationally? Anything I should be aware of?

I do this a lot.  USPS in Priority Mail flat rate boxes is nearly always the best and easiest option.

Have shipped too bout every country. No prob for only one item, you have to fill out a customs form but thats simple. You would probably save a little by using your own box, but not much. If the package weighs less than 4lbs you can send it 1st Class International......but that don't save a bundle either. Oh, and marking it as a gift don't help unless you set the value real low.

Yeah I plan on doing international one size priority mail. I'm just going to drop em in there and ship em. It's his dime for the shipping and I didn't think $24 was too shabby.

I have shipped internationally using USPS Priority Mail flat rate boxes many times.  USPS provides the flat rate boxes at no charge.  Always the cheapest rate by a substantial amount and has always proven to be a reliable service.

On the occasions I've shipped an item to large for a USPS flat rate box, I've used both UPS and Fed Ex.  Expensive, but reliable delivery.

I have shipped Harley Parts all over the world even to the comrads in Russia no problems ever.  Actually smoother than inside the USA, go figure.   Many went as Birthday gifts to my brothers from another mother at zero cost.
