Adding front cylinder motor mount on 96 heads
« on: April 09, 2013, 01:17:06 AM »

So I'm going to have some motor work done and since it was getting nice out I didn't want to take my motor apart so I bought a set of cylinders and heads that are 96 ci and have them machined that way when they are done and I have a free weekend I can put everything together. So I got a really good deal on the heads and cylinders but overlooked a major component that I didn't even realize I should have looked for when buying another set.. The front cylinder head does not a the holes to be able to mount up the motor mount on it.. Do you guys think a machine shop would be able to drill and tap it so I can use the motor mount or will I have to get a new head, I read somewhere earlier on my phone that people have done that before but of course now that I'm home and on my laptop I cant find it and it wont come up in my phones browser history.. I really want to make this one work since I got such a good deal on it.. Thanks

It can be done, I know that Kirby at Vee Twin Racing has done them. He might also be who you want to perform other work to the heads as well.

Nothing to it.

After talking to a few people I'm actually leaning towards putting se110 heads on it instead. Found a set of 110 se heads that are already diamond cut which I was going to do anyway. Thanks though guys. Appreciate it. If anyone knows of someone looking for pre 08 heads I have a set in perfect condition with 20k miles.

Some attention to those 110" heads, and they can really move some air. :2vrolijk_21:

we do alot of the 110 heads, seen way too many loose guides on 110 heads,do your self a favor & replace the guides with OS units weather your doing any headwork or not
