i had already decided that i would upgrade my front suspension to part number 45500106 which is the hd premium ride double cartridge fork kit.  i know there are other options for this upgrade, but decided to stick with hd.  they arrived yesterday.  i wanted to read the installation documentation so i looked online through the hd parts website and there's no option for this kit.  it is available for the cvo ultra and road glide.

i immediately thought, great!  maybe they came stock and i didn't know it.  i quickly went to my flhrse5 parts book and service manual supplement and the parts book shows a traditional front spring setup and there's no special supplement for the front suspension - so i'm assuming i don't have them.

therefore, i can't imagine why i cannot install these and am presuming that the website omission is an error.

what do you think?

thx - tin

I'm sure one of the RK guys will chime in for your answer.  Have you talked to you dealer they sure should be able to answer
your question.  It is an original harley product so I would be scared to go to that dealer if he can't inform you with a soothing
answer.  Good Luck

According to the parts manuals (not 100% accurate either in many cases), the CUSE and SERK front fork assemblies carry the same part numbers, 48789-09 LH and 48790-09 RH.  That would lead me to believe a kit that will fit a CUSE would also fit a SERK.

The front fork internals are no different on my FLHRSE5 than on my FLTRXSE, or than was on my FLTRSE3.

I ran the progressive montube stock height in the FLTRSE3, and think I will do the same in the King.  I like it a little better than the harley double cartridge set up in my wifes street glide.

totally agree with the choice.  Harley had the opportunity to do it right and they chose to use very old technology why pay them again to do what they should have done in the first place!

Harley should have put their premium ride cartridge kit in the CVO's.  The reason they did not in my opinion was to sell us more parts.  The front ends are way to soft from the factory, with way to much brake dive.
