Looking to improve performance on my 2012 FLHXSE3 :) I have decided to change out my Vance & Hines dresser duals with Rinehart 4" slip ons for a set of Drago's Dragula! Took the bike today for a ride with the V&H and Rineharts still on the bike! I love they way the bike sounds. Hope I don't regret the change. Already sold the V&H Rinehart setup so no going back if i don't like the Dragula.  :-\ Has any one esle made this same change? If so was you happy you did?

If your goal was to improve performance and you were happy with how the bike sounds investing ~ the same money in the new Kuryakyn 24C cam would have given you the best of both worlds.

Are you also getting a Drago ghost pipes to balance the look and fill the left side muffler opening?

Drago seems to make some nice stuff you should be satisfied once the pipe is on and tuned.

I went from Vance and Hines dresser duals to Drago's with the ghost pipe.  The Drago's sound almost as good as the V/H duals but the performance is much better with the Drago's.  My tuner had a very difficult time tuning the true duals and the Drago's were very easy to tune.

You will LOVE the Dragula! Looks great, sounds awesome, and has excellent performance. I run the S/C/S-4, which has straight headers instead of the stepped ones like the Dragula. This helps some with the low end torque. It also has a slightly different collector, but uses the same Dragula muffler.

Big 2-1 pipes like the Dragula are made for big, high-HP engines... and they are more focused on making power at mid- to high-RPM than they are at low-RPM torque. To make the most power from the Dragula, you really need to run higher duration cams, because the pipe is super-efficient at scavenging. If it empties out due to too-low exhaust duration, the power will suffer due to low exhaust gas velocity. The stock, low duration SE 255 cams will not play well with the Dragula, and you'll lose a lot of power with the stock SE heads. The components all need to work together, and low-duration cams with a big 2-1 pipe will not.

I was running Andrews 54H cams (238/238 duration) with the Fullsac setup, and they worked fine. But when I switched to the S/C/S-4, the power just wasn't there. After some research, I switched to the SE 259e cams, and they sound awesome and perform very well. Mean, angry sound when I blip the throttle, and the 246/250 duration is perfect to keep the big 2-1 pipe full and happy all the way to red line. Everyone in my riding group knows when I fire up the Honey Badger... it's pretty loud even just sitting there idling!

With bigger cams, you should also install a set of Cometic MLS .030" head gaskets, to help the squish. For the best performance, 10.5-1 pistons are really needed, too... big cams need high CR. That's a step that I haven't taken yet - but I plan to soon.

And with the Drago's pipe, you definitely need the left side ghost pipe. It will look really bad to have a big hole on the left side where the left muffler should be with your stretched bags. It's about $300, but it is an aesthetic "must have" on our FLHXSEs.

Thanks to everyone for all the Info.

Ken I will be adding a set of T-man 625 cams and .30 Cometic head gasket. I thought about doing head work but branch and O'keefe recommended i didn't invest the money for the very Small return i would get from doing this to the stock heads.

I will be adding the ghost pipe as well. Don't think i could take looking at that big hole in the back of my bike. I sent Frank an email today asking if he had one in stock. This has been the hardest set of pipes i have every tried to buy. I got lucky
and found a set at Rt. 66 Harley in Tulsa Oklahoma and bought them today. Cant wait to get them on the bike. I hope when its all said and done it sounds as good as yours.

Now you have me thinking about putting a set of 10:5-1 pistons in while i have the heads off. This site sure is good at helping me spend my money! Lol

I wish I'd done that when I had my heads off. My 259e cams really need higher compression to perform their best.

Well I put the new Dragula on yesterday and I Love the sound. I can instantly tell a difference in exhaust temp. The power at this point leaves a lot to be desired but thats not the pipes doing. When I go on vacation next month dropping bike off to have T-man 625 cams 10.5:1 pistons roller rockers and Zippers dual piston cam chain tensioner put in and a dyno tune. At that point I hope to be happy!
