I have found that with both bikes and cars what you read on the tire is different from what you read in the manual or on the door frame (I think what is on the tire is inflation for maximum load).  I had always inflated my tires based on what was on the tire (best for mpg), but then I read something about the tires wearing out quicker, so I basically split the difference now between recommended on tire and recommended in book

Thanks to the mod for combining these posts in the wheel/tire section however they were posted to the bike as these tire/combinations were specific to these bikes per say. now.... reading this information; with combining the tires am I correct in assuming that

40pis is for the 180x18 on the RoadGlide back tire???

and

36psi is for the Breakaway front tire???

trying to formulate a base line including this information with the published tire pressure listed on the sidewall for my 04 B/B SEEG

thnx guys for trying to help

If you are on the road and forget, the pressures are printed on the foil tag that is fastened to the front frame down tube.... or at least they were last time I looked at one.  :2vrolijk_21:
