Been running Redline 20w-60 in my FLHXSE3 for a couple of months now and really like it.  I live in southern Texas and with the summer heat coming on the more I like it.  May be my imagination because it's not quite 100 degrees and humidity running 70% just yet but it seems like it's running cooler to me than last year at this time with Mobil 1 20w-50.  Then Redline Shockproof in tranny and HD Formula+ in primary.  Seems like a good combination to me right now.

Live in Miami, Ive always run Mobil 1 in my bikes and Corvettes never had a problem 15 years strong.

Mobile 1 V-twin 20/50
Harley Formula+ in Primary
Spectro Platinum 6speed HD 75/90 in Tranny ( Really quiets whining noise and clunk )
All though Ive  heard great things about Shockproof Ive just alway gone with Spectro and my local guy at Competition Cycle in Dania stocks it.

Looks like I'm the exception here but I run HD Syn 3 in Ginger.  I've stuck with the Harley branded oils for all my HD's over the years and never had any issues with it.  My '89 EVO had 95K on the clock when she was "refreshed" in 1994.  The mechanic (an ace, IMO, and had several patents with the MoCo) asked me first thing if I had been using HD oil.  Answer was yes and why did he ask?  He said he could always tell when he broke down a motor if it had been running HD oil as it was always a clean rebuild.  Not knocking any of the other brands here as we all have opinions on each of our choices but that experience sold me on always using HD.
Yes, I know that was a long time ago but it's always worked good for me.  Even my dad's old '72 Shovel ran HD oil (sometimes all over the place... :2vrolijk_21:)

I am very much of the opinion that HD fluids get knocked a lot harder than they deserve.  I think it's been proven the HD oils are really not bad oils at all.  I just think it's more of a perception of who makes them.  Good for you brutha.

I agree that the HD Syn3 is as good as any other 20W/50.  But, run Red Line in tranny and HD primary in the primary.  JMO

I was told to change out the SyS3 asap it's not a true fully  synthetic oil... I've been using Mobil 1 V-twin in all my bikes never a problem.
also use Mobil 1 on my atv's ...no problem there either

After I moved to the SC coast and beach traffic would force me to shut off my bike after oil pressure dropped out, I switched to Mobil 1 and never had the problem after that.

Made me a believer

I will add my recommendation. http://penngrade1.com/Default.aspx
Use a good quality gear oil in your trans.

Primary = Red Line V-Twin Primary Chain
Crankcase = Amsoil 20W50
Transmission = Red Line V-Twin Trams with Shockproof

Was using all Amsoil

Never had a problem with either choice.
Seems to run quieter with the Red Line
