When I bought my Dakota Digital gauges, it was a lot cheaper to buy the "Six Pack" which included the fuel gauge and the oil temp gauge.  I installed the four that are easy stock replacement for a FLHXSE3 last summer. 

When I upgraded my audio system a few weeks ago, I decided to move my tweeters to the holes left from my fairing mirrors and install the Dakota Digital fuel and oil temp gauges in the stock tweeter locations. 

Oil temp gauge works great.  Fuel gauge reads "EEE" then "Er2".  I've read the Dakota manual ten times, checked the new sensor and ground wires.  I've tried "10", "33" and "Cal"

Help would be appreciated,

If a sender is not connected properly or the gauge is not set for the sender, the display will show “EEE”. If the SND terminal is shorted to ground, the display will show “---”. When the gauge is set for a GM sender the gauge will not show “--“ since 0 ohms is a valid reading from the sender.

Jim (HD Dude), cured my problem.  I had both the tank gauge and the Dakota Digital hooked up at the same time.  Having the old gauge hooked up was giving the Dakota a false reading.  Unhooked old gauge, problem solved.  This is a great forum and Jim is a great guy.
