Radio/electronic guru's please help
« on: June 03, 2013, 12:14:11 PM »

Got everything up and running on the new build but came across something very odd. Got a new clarion head unit with rear USB, ran the cable along the back bone and into the saddlebag to use phone or ipod. Everything works fine except when running the head unit with the phone for music, if I dump the air with my Legends air ride system it pauses the music. Only does this on dump, not raise and does not effect the CD or radio side. Only with my I-phone and when I dump the air. We tried everything, disconnected wires from air ride buttons and worked the air ride through the wires direct, changed 12v source, swithced phones we were using for music.  Took the USB cord away from any 12v wires but  Anytime you dump the air once or twice it will actually pause the I-phone music?? Help, any ideas?

I don't have an iphone anymore (went Android) but seem to remember some motion sensitive function.  Maybe it's just the right movement to cause the behavior?

Just a guess that when you are dumping air, that the solenoid that operates the dump valve is energized and is grounding to the frame and that is causing your stereo some grief.  I wonder if it is possible to somehow isolate that solenoid from the frame and run a ground wire directly to the neg post of your battery?
