110 problems
« on: June 28, 2013, 08:21:29 PM »

I don't know a lot about the small teething problems the 110 motor had at the begining but was wondering if the problems have been fixed.looking to buy the Cvo break out and it's my first Cvo so I'm searching around to get opinions and see if there are any problems I need to be aware of.

Greetings,

I have had my CDO BO for 10 days and I am at 500 miles. The 110 runs very hot but I was told a tune will help to remedy that. I am also going to get an oil cooler and Bassani 2 to 1 Short Megaphone exhaust so I am waiting to do all this in conjunction with the 1000 mile initial service. I will also have the dyno run at that time. I know some other guys with the 110 and those that have been tuned have no temp issues.

I only had the temp be a problem getting stuck in stopped traffic. It was a mile strectch that took almost a half hour. The EITMS kicked in frequently by itself and the bike shut off once, I think that happens around 290deg.

Other than temp, I love this bike to the point my wife is getting slightly jealous.

I live out in Dubai and as you can imagine, it gets pretty dam hot!
I started by fitting the HD Premium oil cooler, that helped a lot when moving but pretty much useless when getting stuck in traffic or at lights!
I went on the fit the WPW Cooling fans with thermal switch and since then the bike has not gone into safe mode once!  :2vrolijk_21:

A decent stage 1 and a good tune will go along way with cooling them down.

Do they still use the 255 in the lighter non Bagger bikes?

You might want to get rid of the cat while you are at it. No cat = much less heat.

Good idea. I actually hadn't thought of that. It will be at least a month before I get the new pipes so I will look into that. I am still hunting for a freaking service manual.

I'm running the coated Jackpot head pipe and a PV tune, and it's much cooler than stock.  That said, the 100/255 combination still runs hotter than the 103 in my old FLHTK.

Sent from my iPad, probably while I'm pooping.
