Used to have a Road King that for some reason was always a bit predisposed to doing that.  After having it a short while got in the habit of cracking the fuel cap just before pulling in the garage.  A quick vent outdoors and no more stink indoors.
I bet that will do it! Mine is not all that bad, just annoying.
Thanks!

When you say fumes are you smelling the exhaust fumes while riding or does it smell like gasoline? I could smell exhaust fumes when riding on my 96" inch motor

My Dyna is starting to exhibit a fuel smell when put away. I was thinking maybe a new o ring on the cap might help.

Good question.  At first I did think it was exhaust with a lot of unburned fuel, and there had to be some freakish air flow pattern that whipped the exhaust around to the rider or something.  It made no sense to me.  Plus, it just didn't smell like exhaust; it smelled like gasoline.  The explanation here by Jerry makes perfect sense, that it was leaking out around the gas cap.

Anyway, I'm just happy that I can smell fresh air now when I ride.
