tank switched
« on: June 18, 2013, 05:56:27 PM »

Just had harley davidson switched tank and front fender,  bad paint.  There was rust under the paint and the ne tank has a mod on it .  The gas filler is deeper than the last one, which makes the gas stay in tank when fill up.

I'm getting the 2nd rear fender after the riding season, rusted at the seat nut, again!

WOW!  Ever since you mentioned that...I've been checking my rear seat nut on a regular basis.

Always pays to check your nuts when you ride a Breakout!

I thought Gunslinger did the paint on these bikes.  I'm surprised if they're at fault, considering it's not their first rodeo.

I just filed a claim for my tank too!  I guess I should check the fenders as well.  Sorta a blessing in disguise since I received a rock chip on the front part of the tank a few months ago.  Hope the MoCo comes thru on mine too.  This might be the last time they try one of these clear coated polished tanks.

My rear fender is duff too, rust under the paint on the seat nut. Off the road for two weeks while they strip it down and send the offending item off to be repainted!!  :-*

I noticed rust under the clearcoat.  Now don't you be thinking 'bout selling your Breakout Nicky.  As long as Harley stands by their warranty, I'll accept that as part of the membership dues.  But I do recognize that the price we pay for these things, stuff like this shouldn't happen.

I may be trying to sell it in the next week or so.  I found a perfect 1967 Chevelle....I can't afford both.  It's a long shot now....but if I get $30k for it....you never know.
