OK Mr Impatient,  ::)

                       Here's the skinny IMHO  If the 07 has the round bar pinch together type framework then the 01 SERG backrest will work. If the 07 has the flat bar push in and lock adjustable with a lever under the seat on the left side of the frame type then it won't work. The 01 SERG had the only type backrest made at the time and then in 03 H-D came out with the adjustable type on the 03 SERK. Why they went to the non-adjustable earlier type on the 04 and up SEEG's is beyond me. That's all I know dude  8-)

There's nothing under the seat but a couple of connectors which plug in for the seat heaters, and they are in the general area between the battery and the tail end of the tank.  The slot on the seat for the ultra runs across the seat, and not longitudinally, so if you move the post/squeezable backrest support bracket too far forward on the fender, it starts bunching the rear of the driver's seat a bit.

I'm not familiar with the backrest you're thinking about, but I don't think there's anything under the seat that would be in the way.

We just put the adjustable on our 06 CUSE.  Fit like a champ, cable and all. Should work just fine on an 07.

great - thanks.   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  I didn't want to shell out the $300 only to find out it would become a wall hanger or ebay auction.

Getting my bike in November in N. Illinois may mean I won't ride much till spring, but it sure gives me time to spend money and turn wrenches!!

Hi sadunbar,
I understand the stress and excitement of waiting for that new bike to get there. I hope it comes soon for you. Just a thought, if you can't get everything you want at the 20% sale maybe you can work the same discount at the time of purchase of your bike? Or check out the list of discount offering dealerships on this site?
Another thought is, if you do all the mods yourself will the parts still be covered? I know if you have the dealer install stuff at time of purchase it falls under the two year factory warranty. (Or at least it does in this area)

Pulled the seat on my 07 CUSE2 to see if the adjustable mount would fit.  I had one I took off of my 03 Ultra.  The mounting hardware for the pinch type backrest is completely different.  I don't believe it will fit.

I think I am going to hold off on buying this one until I have a bike sitting here so I can be sure I won't have any issues...
