General CVO update with Dealers...
« on: June 04, 2013, 12:31:40 AM »

A good report:  my bike has treated me well with zero major issues.  A couple of extremely minor things bothered me A bit and I brought it up to my dealer.  These were issues specific to my model CVO.  The issues might have been ignored by many, but they bothered me a bit.  Anyway, I brought my bike in to service, the looked at it and said there was really nothing wrong, it's just the way it is.  I looked them up on this site and others experienced similar concerns and came up with solutions!  So I brought my bike back, explained what I learned about my issues on this site..Did they ignore me? No! They listened to the solutions offered by my cousins on this site and solved the problems with my bike!  So I have to hand it to them, that they listened, kept a open mind, and offered zero resistance to try to make me happy and in turn solve these nusence issues.  Yes one could say they should have known, but these were very isolated small issues.  I am impressed two fold: one, the answers were Here! And two: the dealer was willing to listen and solve my problems! That's a winner !

It's not a story without the details.  What were the issues and what were the resolutions they accepted?

One: after they installed the factory Led headlight I did not like the strobe light effect on the road.  It's rubber mounted on my bike.  Two: very intermittently my clock reset to 12:00 and I had to reset it.

It's bound to happen every once in a while. A positive outcome from a dealership maintenance department.   :2vrolijk_21:

I'd file this under: Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once-in-awhile.

Actually, my dealership is pretty great, too. Fullerton H-D...or as they're now calling themselves: Los Angeles Harley-Davidson of Anaheim located in Fullerton.  Seriously, you make this chit up.

And the resolutions?
Sorry for the delay in responding, I am away from home out of town..Anyway, on this site several solutions were cited and I picked the ones that seemed most relevant to my situation.

With respect to the headlight, someone posted a HD part number that was a headlight damper rubber part that was designed to stabilize the headlight.  I provided the part number (by the way the service mgr never knew it existed but researched it and ordered it, I think there cost was $5.95!) anyway they installed it free and that was that.
With regard to the clock resetting, the advice on this site was to have the bike re flashed or something via computer.  Anyway to the service mgrs credit he understood and had it done.  So far so good!

So there you have it.  Sometimes things do work out.  And I do love my bike, by the way..
Thanks for all your interest! And comments..All you guys and gals are Great!

Glad to hear they had their listening ears on. Go ahead and give them a public pat on the back by telling us who it is.  :2vrolijk_21:
