No kidding! Just got new multifocal glasses with Luxottica frames at LensCrafters. About $400 out the door only because the frames were 50% off. They work well though.

I have worn glasses since the sixth grade. Wore contacts since the ninth grade, then rigid gas permeable contacts when they came out until about 10 years ago, when I chucked the contacts for good and switched to multifocal glasses because my eyes were too dry for the contacts, and I didn't want to wear reading glasses with the contacts all the time. Tried soft contacts but I have too much astigmatism for them to work for me.

I shudder to think about the THOU$ANDS I have paid for prescription eyewear over the last 4 and a half decades! I am blind as a bat without my glasses...
