2 questions - floorboards & chrome plating
« on: July 07, 2013, 11:18:28 AM »

The chrome on all the floorboards on my 2005 :bananarock: SEEG is peeling.  :furious3:. I would like to keep things as original as possible (at least to the eye) and the cost of a full new set of front and backs from the stealership is  :sauer021:!!! So.....
Question 1 - are the inserts (rubber part) removable and
Question 2 - anybody know of a quick turnaround, reasonably priced chrome plater that does good work on small stuff?
Thanks

1 - Yes, the inserts are removable.  That said, your are 8 years old, and the rubber probably isn't as pliable as it once was, so you may have difficulty removing them intact.

2 - While you could probably find someone to replate what you have, I think you'd be better off scouring the classifieds on the various forums for a used set.
