Serious Vibration with Breakout
« on: July 16, 2013, 06:06:35 PM »

Rode the wife's Breakout the other day and noticed some serious vibration in the engine or drive line  This vibration occurs during "Power On", hit the clutch, goes away.  So that tells me it's in the drive train.  I'm thinking:

1.  Maybe needs tuned by Robin at Gail's?  Previously tuned by a dealer that was having dyno problems

2.  Maybe the drive belt?  It was readjusted when I installed the Cycle Visions plate

3.  Bad Crank?  Less than 500 miles on bike, I hope not.

Where should I start first?

Make sure to check the rear tire pressure. I had a tire that was separating internally and when the pressure was low it was terrible with vibrations. Added air and it went away. It wasn't for another 1000 miles before I discoverd the tire coming apart and it only had 1200 miles on it.

Take it to the dealer! It could be as simple as an engine mount bolt. Who knows though?

I'll be keeping track of this one.
