I do not like the look at all. ken is right though, if your moving and drop the bike they are worthless. if you just lay the bike down gently they will protect. Black on a dark bike is not very noticeable and doesnt look bad at all. And yes , you can have them powder coated or even painted to match your bike as well. Paint would probably look the best. I took mine off when I did the SG conversion. My wife also likes the xtra added room to move her legs around back there since she is a long legged woman.

Yep, no good for a crash...don't ask how I know.
But when laid down in the garage they work fine.

Embarrassing disclosure: Last summer, I laid the Honey Badger down on the left side at a stop sign going uphill at the top of our old neighborhood. Felt it going and laid it over gently, and stepped off. It rested on the floorboard brackets and the metal pads at the bottom of the extended bags. Got it back up without a scratch. No bag guards.

i just did the same thing in my drive way last weekend (Im glad someone else admitted to going it..) and then on my ride got a little "hot" in the turn and scrapped the "metal pad" on the asphalt which made it fly off and almost decapitate the guy I was riding with...
The dealer just put another on for me today under warranty...
