Opinion needed on 2006 CVO Ultra
« on: July 24, 2013, 10:39:01 PM »

Hi Guys,

I have not owned a CVO since I sold my 2004 SEEG two years ago and I have found a 2006 Autumn Haze with 6000 miles on it in very good condition. Would any 2006 owners give me their opinion about buying this bike again if they had the option.

Thanks,

Fred

While not an 06 owner but I have done lots of work and services on many i can tell your that the 06 SEUC was/is a great bike.  There were many paint related issues with the 06's but they were with the black crimson and green bikes. Last year of the cvo103 motor as well.  If the price is right go for it.

A close friend of mine bought one (same colors) new and I got to put about 3k mi. on it. It was a good riding bike, more plush of a ride than my '05. He put over 93k on it before he traded it. We really liked the paint scheme on it except that the black leather tour pak looked like King Kong's left nut lol.
If the $ right, go for it!

There are many reasons to buy an '06 CVO Ultra.

The last year of the 103 engine, something many believe to be bulletproof.
Throttle by cable.
No 02 sensors.
One of two years with the unique "Camel Hump" leather tourpack.

If you like it, go for it.

I owned one. The only problems I had with the bike was the radio, first year of the Harmon Kardon and the heated grips. The radio played well but had many problems with the screen going out. The heated grips were replace 4 times and were not working when I sold it. Other than that I really liked the bike, rode smooth plenty of power.

I own a '06 Autumn Haze that I bought from another member here a few years ago.  He did lot's of mods, and I did quite a few too, including adding a DD6 a decent audio upgrade, lighting, etc.  I think looks wise, this bike is a real head turner. The Leather tourpak is really cool looking, but the rack makes it tough to use Harley luggage, as it's considerably smaller. With the engine upgrades and the 6 speed, I'm probably going to keep this thing until I run it into the ground. There is not one area that it's a step down from the newer bikes - yet.

How much does the guy want?

I have an '06 Autumn Haze that I bought new. It's been the best Harley that I have ever owned. Yea, the heated grips are crap, after two sets I gave up on them. I pull a trailer when on a road trip and the 103 has plenty of power. To me, it is one of the best paint schemes ever produced by the MOCO. I wouldn't trade it for a new one. But that's just my opinion  ;)

Hey Guys,

Thanks for your feedback, I think I will pull the trigger. It is pretty much stock with a D&D 2 into 1 and a thundermax tuner. The seller is willing to take $18,750 and it has 6100 miles on it. It is hard to tell if this is a good deal, what do you guys think?

I think that's a pretty nice deal.  Mine has 34,000 miles now and I wouldn't sell it for anywhere near that.  I'd offer $18,000 cash and see what he says.  That's unless he's a member here?

My buddy has the same bike, same color.  He loves it!!  The bike has been bullet proof for him, except for a couple minor electrical issues and the Garmin dying.

6,100 miles over 7 years, at $18.7k??  There's currently at least one of these on eBay for $19k (lowest bid) with over 25k miles.

If this bike is in the condition that it should be for such low mileage, that would be one heck of a deal.  Man, I wish I could find deals like that!

I picked up a '06 Black Candy Crimson last year from a local dealer. My heated grips still work...it does have a few of the paint booboo's but it's a really great running bike. Good power and really comfortable. The '06 CVO's were IMHO the best looking paint schemes I've seen. Price seems pretty good given the miles. Good luck with it if you pull the trigger!
