So Far:

A)  The bike is very quiet compared to my '05.  I was a bit surprised after reading everything here.  Very smooth with no noticable whine in 1st or 5th gears.  Downshifting into 1st is the only time I really hear the noise.  Shifting is smooth and not as clunky as the '05 and earlier bikes were.

B)  No heat problems that I noticed so far.

And the security system is a pain in the ass.  I'd rather have the button fob.

I guess it's just a matter of time 'til I get used to it.

On long trips, I would lock my spare fob and keys in my tourpak just in case I lost my set.  Can't do that with this setup.

Maybe I'm just getting old... :P

A buddy of mine asked me to test ride his 07 police special (you know whats coming don't ya). I rode it up to the Harley shop and shut her down while showing it to the sells rep there as they were $1,000 higher than Daytona on the deal (if you can imagine that). went ot leave and you guessed it.......... it would not start because he had the key fob back at my office!!

I thought about leaving the spare fob under the trunk liner for a while but i like the idea of setting the chirp mode and walking off and not having to lock everything down when you go into the store. Man.......... auto locking trunk and self setting alarm system.... this is just getting too easy! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Trunk doesn't lock automatically. You gotta hit the switch on the dash with the ignition in either the "on" or "accessory" position but EASY none the less! You also have the ability to deactivate the security system via the turn signal switches (should you forget the fob): turn on ignition, push and hold both turn signals, use one or the other (not sure which - left or right) to enter a code (push twice for two, or whatever the number) push the other switch like an enter key and revert back to the other switch to continue with the next number in the code . . . and the system shuts off allowing you to get back to wherever you left the fob.
the key here is to remember the code.
