Scala G4
« on: July 26, 2013, 12:34:17 PM »

I was looking at the Cardo Scala G4 on their website.  They seem to make a big deal about it being for "snow mobiles" instead of bikes.  Any Info out there?  Found a set on sale for $199 new.  Will the G4 Bluetooth to your iPhone and iTunes?  Also, I know people sometimes pair to their Garmin. Why?  Thanks

I'm happy with it !
With my jet helmet I answer calls just saying hello in the mike, people are surprised if I say I'm on the bike.
I paired it with my Samsung Note, so I get music and get road info through Navigon software.
Paired it too with a French GPS thing that warns you when over speed limitation, or danger to come.
Speaking with my wife is easy. I've never tried bike to bike communication, but used it skiing with my grandson, worked great in a range of 200 meters.
The protection around the mike get burnt with time, so did it with first Scala, and with G2.
Radio is not at the best.
Battery lasts OK in solo...

The reason I also paired it to my gps is because that will override anything else on my headset. So if I am listening to music or talking on the phone or on the intercom, the gps will override those to let me know about a turn. To me this is a great feature as now I don't have to always be looking at the gps
