     I was riding down the interstate yesterday and my Screamin' Eagle insert blew off the tank console of my bike, never to be seen again. I have been told by Harley that the part is obsolete, and no dealers have one in stock. Does anyone have an idea where I can get one of these, or someone/a business that can recreate it for me? (Maybe with "1800" on it instead of "1550"....)

It's true.  What you're after is obsolete and no dealer in the country shows inventory.  Same story for the burgundy colored piece off the other 2000 model. 

All is not lost though.  Especially for you using a black insert.  There are several attractive Road Glide dash inserts in the aftermarket for you to pick from.

Unlike the SE Road King boys our Road Glides used the standard shaped Road Glide/Electra Glide dash.  Just in a different color.  So all the dash inserts created for the rest of the fleet work on our old SE Road Glides.

It was on eBay.  I posted a link to it.  Best guess a month to six weeks ago.  Pretty sure I remember it selling at auction.

Happens to be the console insert for a 2001 rather than a 2000.  But unlike 2000 the 2001 model isn't color specific so it would actually look ok.  Would look like it belongs there to anyone but an owner of that bike who was really paying attention.

I was too slow to get that last one on e bay. Dang. I did buy a vivid black one, but I am still looking for the right one. Hope one pops up...

Mine pooped loose but I caught it before it got away. Stopped at auto zone for some windshield adhesive, so far so good.

Over the years I have aquired a lot of spare parts for my tripple red FLTRSEI. One of the parts is that console piece. To bad I am a moron and dented it beyond use. Should have stored it better.

Try contacting the H-D supplier directly to see if they can make you one ....
