My mirrors are pitted bad, like up to 1/8 inch pits. 20 or more on one mirror, other one not quite as bad, butl ooks like acid is eating it clean thru to the pot metal. the stems are fine however so cant be like salt from the ocean or from snow country, also, my front lower forks have what looks like micro pits too. I just know for some reason, Jim using synthetic oil last oil change, will somehow void the chrome warranty.

BTW - the chrome issues suck - but your local friendly dealer will see you OK - Right??

My husband has had his chrome replaced on his '04n bike - wheels - floor boards (rider and passenger), and mirrors.  While visiting our friends in the valley, Reo noticed on his rider floor boards that the new ones are peeling too.  It is just not over yet.  Who knows now that the two year mark is long since over what will happen.  Sorry to hear that the problem has carried over into the newest models.
