Need help with Progressive rear shocks & fork springs

How do you adjust them evenly?  My bike was bottoming out on bumps.  I bought it used 1,600 miles on it, shocks were already on the bike.  No instruction on settings?

If you are talking side to side rear, they should be set the same or very close. Hand adjusted on the 94X models. Turn top and count rings on main body. Front(Monotubes) has to be set when installed, if you are talking front to rear.

Which way is to make it stiffer or softer?

Dumb question, just googled the instructions!
