Instead of Bull Duck can we just call you Drake?  ...  :-X

Sherlock Holmes,

Clearly you have a high IQ, matched with a keen ability for deduction, induction, abduction, and any and all other forms of logic. Nevertheless, your logic no matter how impressive is less important than belief. Others may or may not believe your conclusion.

I too have concluded something about yourself --- you are a compulsive smoker. Yes, Sherlock, we two are alike. When I smoke, I grab for my SmokinTex.

Why would you try to choose between a factory 110 and a dealer built 110? :vrolijk27:

If ya don't want all the other things the CVO's have to offer, then buy a 96" regular bike. But why would you then ruin it with a dealer built 110? This makes no sense at all. If you have the $$$ to build a 110, then go to an REAL engine designer/builder and have a REAL engine built in any size you guys deem fit for you, based on your interview with the designer. Anyone taking a factory built 96" and letting a dealer tear it completely apart to make it a 110 out of it, needs a shrink!!! :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

I don't think I would ever buy anything but a CVO again. But you'll still get to slend lots of $$$$$$ on then if you'er any thing like me, but then I do have OCD. Welcome aboard from New Zealand. :drink:

Welcome.

The C in CVO stands for Custom, but what you get from Mo Co is a semi custom.  Get a 120" power plant and ride the wheels out of it.  You'll be about 10 years ahead of the Mo Co.    :nixweiss:

"Yep" that's a "no". But I remain impressed by your reasoning.  ;)

Thank you for the advice. My 2000 Deuce was built over a decade, as you recommend. Not 120", but over 110HP & 110TQ nevertheless.

Still undecided on the CVO or standard. Since it is not compelling, and since both wife and I each have Harleys, just might sit out the '09 year and see what '10 brings.

:drink: toast to you all for keeping me on the path of indecision.  :)

Return of the "Quacker"
« Reply #26 on: August 15, 2013, 08:46:31 PM »

Signed up on this forum several years ago when considering a CVO. Did not purchase a CVO then. So went my own way, down the road to forums more aligned with my rides. I have nice bikes mind you, just not CVO.

Came across a 2008 Dyna 105th Anniversary CVO. FXDSE2 in anniversary copper metallic and black. Under 1,700 miles and a price that "rang my bell."

Bought it for my wife, I said.  ;D
