2011 streetglide
« on: August 22, 2013, 03:52:09 PM »

At age 75 I am thinking of going to a trike,if I was riding alone most of the time I would be fine. My wife goes with me 95 % of the time and with her parking and getting into tight places causes me some problems at times. My ? is what is my bike worth ? My dealer wants $9000 and my bike for a new trike.I have all the stock parts that were taken off. The bike has true headers and duels and is set up for 2 up riding. mileage is 4,600 miles and has just had the 5000 mile service done. What kind of price should I try and sell it for.

Parts, labor and paint not likely you could trike your bike using one of the good kits out there for less than $9k.  So it does seem you're ahead spending the same money (or less) and getting a brand new bike instead.  Sounds like you're already sure that the approximately 1000 miles a year is enough use to make it worthwhile for you.  Have fun and ride on.

I traded my '10 Limited for less than $9k difference a month ago.  Your dealer is low balling you, either on trade in price or wanting more than MSRP.  Your add ons are worth nothing, pull them and sell them separately.  Oh, and I had over 10k on my Limited.  Took it back as close to stock as I could.

I didn't look where you are, but I'd bet my Dealer would do quite a bit better.

Is adding a sidecar to your bike an option? Dennis

Hey John,

I'm guessing you don't live far from Woodloch Pines............we've been heading up there for over 15 years.  I've been thinking about riding the bike up there........how's the riding up your way?

Riding is good, gets better after all the weekend folks go home. I have worked at woodloch for 37 years full and partime. I play keyboards in the main dinning room 3 nights a week.my wife Carol has worked there 36 years she is a waitress, probably knows you.Sold my Streetglide, leaning towards cvo Deluxe fits me well .I had one in 05 when they first came out. I don't think the time is right for Triglide.
