113 Muscle Kit

JDK,

Haven't seen any posts recently on dyno results for a 113 kit.  Can you post?

Pete,

Sorry for the delay, our DSL was down all week.  Apparently the Verizon Network guys were out filming a commercial.  Here you go, with a 50mm TB and a Fat Cat.  There's probably more there with some more tuning.  This was a "quicky".  Thanks, JK

John,

Thanks, those are some nice numbers, but I spoke with Bill the other day and he was recommending the 117" kit which I didn't think was applicable with EFI.  He was going to send me a dyno sheet, but nothing so far.  Can you post?  Also, would you recommend going with the 117 as well?  My plan would be to pull the motor and send to you for complete build.

Pete,

We've build a 117" that is in line to be installed, tuned and thrashed as part of a durability test of the new crankshaft and rods.

JK,

Thank you for the detail description.  I have an 04 103 and my intent is to keep the motor looking as "stock" as possible making it a "sleeper".  I already have your 50 mm TB and have Reinhart 2:1 pipes which I believe will perform similar to the D&D.  From the dyno sheet it looks like I can expect another 20 hp and 20 ft lbs torque with this conversion.  Your literature offers a 54 mm TB with the 113, is the 50 mm TB OK or am I losing some measureable performance?  I am also considering the Thundermax ECM with closed loop as well.  Right now I have a PC III installed, can I keep the PC III in this upgrade?  Concerning the exhaust, Reinhart is working on a big baffle for this pipe and while they work great now, maybe they are too restrictive if I bump up the displacement.  Did the D&D's have standard or big bore baffles installed on this dyno run?

I gather based on where you are in development, you don't know how much power the 117" kit will produce in my application.  Do you expect it to be significant with head change, etc?

Pete,

1.  If I already had the 50, I'd run it.  The 54 may give a little more up top, but that's not where you ride.

2.  Use the money you just saved and put on the ThunderMax and AutoTune.  With the PCIII, you'd still have to pay somebody to map it and it still would not be as good.

3.  The D&D had the big bore baffle.  I'd run yours as-is first.  Then, once you get used to all that power and want more, put the big baffle in.  And let the AutoTune adjust to it.

4.  The 117" is in our FXD now, putting on some break-in miles (freakin' cold here this week!).  Hope to get it on the wheel in the next week or so.

Thanks, JK
