TTS question regarding tire height/speedometer
« on: September 11, 2013, 10:16:04 PM »

Am I able to use the TTS to adjust tire height to get my speedometer to run true?

If so where do I find (how do I get there) it?

Again if so... is tire height change an actual height or a percentage?

Yes, the TTS can adjust it.   Google the formula and you can get the correction right.

Sent from my iPad, probably while I'm pooping.

When you tune the bike with TTS there is an option to adjust the speedometer.  The way I did it was to record the number currently in the bike.  I then rode my bike with a GPS and recorded the difference in the GPS reading and the bikes speedometer. (I.e. bike was showing 75 and GPS was showing 79 actual.). I used cross multiplication to correct the number input by TTS.  Bike is spot on the money now.

Many different ways to figure the difference out but the easy way is to use the calculator that is in Mastertune. If you  open the calibration you would like to put into the bike then go to the "Tools" drop down menu and select VSS Calculator you can enter the numbers there to find your correction value. This is also covered in the "Tuning Guide" and the online Help file in Mastertune so the directions if you get lose are there to help you along.

The TTS calculator needs to be updated for the newer bikes gearing ratios after 2009.
2208 does not give the correct speed on a 2012 touring bike.
I have adjusted mine per my GPS and ended up with 2275 to have a correct speedo reading at 70mph

Present VSS value times Indicated speedo reading divided by actual speed equals new VSS value.
