2013 110 and 110B Reliability
« on: September 27, 2013, 05:29:48 AM »

I am abot to purchase a 2014 CVO Breakout, and would like to know was there any changes made to the 110B engine to make it more reliable than previous 110s. I have read about previous issues with Lifters, oil pumps and cranks have these now been  put right.
Also is there any difference in reliability between the 110 and 110B, I have read the 110 develops 5bhp more than the 110B.
Thanks in advance for your information.

the 110B (B = Balanced) is only fitted to Softail models, the motor is rigid mounted to the frame.

the 110 fits to Dyna and Touring models, these motors are rubber mounted into the frames.

I think the 110B has had less crank problems the 110,

Its to early to tell what issues the 2014 models will have.............they will still run hotter than lower displacement engines.

The 14's should have the SE lifters already installed.  The inner cam bearings were also updated-maybe for 12 or 13..  The water cooling around the exhaust valves should help with stuck exhasut guides.   Slowly but surely.
