Adding CB on FLHXSE3
« on: May 29, 2013, 08:05:10 AM »

For those who installed CB on SG 2012 I need your help and advice

Am planning to install CB on my scoot, I contact the dealer for quotation and they advised that it will be around US2400!! Damn, is that true??

I've been looking around in the form but didn't find any complete answers

However, my questions

1-What the exact parts needed from A-Z beside the wiring and CB modem?
2-Do I need to change the fuel tank consol? Or there are other solutions?
3-Is it easy to do this job by my self or is batter to leave it to the dealer?

Thanks

You should definitely do some searches on this forum as many have already posted this here. Follow this link to some mounting ideas for your question regarding replacing your dash. It is a posting I started last year that shows how mine was stealthily mounted. http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=62448.0;all

Hope this helps some.

You need the overlay harness, The console insert, console trim piece, new console (if yours is the one piece), antenna cable, mount and antenna, cb module, new lower switch housing for the left side, PTT switch, housing switch bracket (goes inside the lower housing)  dash speaker selector switch and some other minor bits.  You can reuse your existing gas cap cover and console rubber trim pieces.

All in all, retail for the parts alone is just under $1000.

I've installed this on two bikes now. My personal preference is to trim the excess connectors off of the overlay harness so there is not so much to cram in the fairing but that would be up to you.

CB been install on the bike and works fine, however, noticed that the I pod nano is not working

I removed the I pod from the bike as i thought the problem is the I pod

Tried to connect my I phone to the bike but was not working

My question: dose the non ultra overlay harness which has been installed is affecting the I pod nano?

Thanks
