Help Help Help So Confused w/103 FatBoy Hop Up
« on: February 25, 2007, 01:13:23 PM »

Hi All, Ok I have decided to go with either the Zippers 575 or the Freedom FCC14. Heres where I need help, I have an 05 SE Fat Boy with a Rinehart 2 into 1 and the SERT. I have a S&S gear drive ready to go in. I only want to do this once, I'm not changing the heads, I dont need a rocket but I do want to wake up this engine a bit. I hear alot about the oil pump should I change this while I'm having the cams installed. I ride between 2K-4K RPM and I like to show off a little bit (Bike Nights) I read alot of posts and it looks like there is a difference with the two cams since the fatboy is lighter than the baggers out there is one better then the other. I also like the looks of the Rinehart exhaust, can I use this exhaust with Zippers Auto tune?
The bottom line is I need HELP

Dav;
Either of the cams will work fine in the FB, The 575 comes on a bit sooner than the FCC14 but in a lighter bike that's not as much of a concern. Neither needs head work so either. The 14 cam has a bit less lift so it will be a bit easier on the valve train. As far as the Autotune if you have the bungs for the 02 sensors you should be good to go.

You didn't say how many miles, but if the oil pump looks good, then why not just do the Zippers shim?

Dav,
Stick with that pipe, I have it to and love it.
Here is a pic of my bike with it. Man I love this bike!
as d00d would say "Show us a pic of your bike"
I highly recommend the Auto Tune, like HD-dude said, weld on
the bungs and let it rip.  You won't be dissappointed.

                                                    DAV DO THE OIL PUMP!!!!!!!!

It is cheap insurance and you will be in there right next to it. Fueling pump and the Zippers shim. Your motor will love it.

Yeah, just make sure all your oil lines are tight, otherwise you'll be doing 50-yard burnouts on an oil slick! :oops: :huepfenlol2:

 Freedom Cycles uses the stock oil pump and lifters on low mile bikes. They just put in the cams, gear drive, and pushrods and let em rip.
