CVO 110cc MOTOR- VALVE SIZE
« on: February 01, 2014, 09:05:44 PM »

Hi Guys,

Can anybody tell me the size of the Intake and Exhaust valves on the Stock 110cc CVO Motor?

It appears that the 110 Head is a fairly efficient Head as stock when it comes to valve size!

If the 110 Heads were modified (say: T-MAN 110 Street Performer or Thumper Series) to suit a larger Cam of choice with increased compression as well, what are the benefits of installing bigger valves to this head?

Is the valve size a thing of choice to suit a particular build, or would it be an overkill for the 110 in general?

What are your thoughts?

 2.08 intake  1.625 exhaust

IMO the intake valve is too small for the seat throat diameter,I generally put a 2.10 intake 1.635 exhaust in for basic upgrade.

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply.

If you were doing a high performance upgrade to the 110 head, what size valves would you recommend?

2.125/1.645 but it depends on the rest of the package,compression,cam.....also take into account budget as there are options.

I prefer to use beehive springs with my camshafts and I have been coating the exhaust ports with good results.

Valve size would not be detrimental larger, or smaller...all depends on the port configuration.

The 2.080" OEM valve is quite enough for most applications.

It would entirely depend on your goals, how you ride and the typical payload / gearing.

Is effedupedness a technical term :nixweiss:

Must be extremely technical

Sorry far from technical just disturbing that some of the heads have terrible core shift amongst other problems....and how horrable the state of tune is from the factory

If the heads are being done  new guides that is part of the deal at that point a valve job is needed why not bump to the 2.120 valve right then. There is NO downside to it at all. Stock or other wise. we bump to the 2.120 on most sets if other work is being done.  Correcting issues with the stock heads is a win win.. increased reliability and increased performance.

cannot think of a reason not to go to a larger valve...2.12 or larger

Can you get good numbers with a stock valve ?   Yes you can but airflow isn't everything

Last set I did using a new set of replacement ferreas went 308 front and 311 rear @.600 lift

Had it been my heads the $60 upcharge to install a little larger set of valve would have been an easy sell.
