Ground Clearence
« on: January 05, 2014, 09:30:55 PM »

Looking at the specs for touring bikes they have the ground clearance at 5.3 inches for both the street glide  the standard roadking  and the cvo roadking not sure if they are wrong or is it because the wheels and rims are different sizes . the CVO roadking is lowered one inch  front and back . Any body got any  ideas ? Billy

What did you find out? Are they all the same even lowered? I wouldn't think so.

If you want to determine if the wheel/tire combinations have any affect, just look up the outer diameter of the tires on each model.  Usually the differences are modest even if you're talking about a 17" rim on one bike and a 19" rim on the other, due to the aspect ratio of the tires involved (shorter sidewalls on the larger rim diameter tires).

What I've found over the years is that the folks putting those spec pages up on the website do a very poor job of getting the information correct, often assuming the CVO versions are a direct cut and paste proposition when in fact some are not.  I wouldn't be terribly surprised if that was the case with the CVO Road King this year.
