Sound system for a softail
« on: February 15, 2014, 08:07:58 PM »

Looking to get my wife some sort of sound system for her Softail Deluxe and need recommendations. I have heard some handlebar mounted speakers that you can't hear at highway speed......I want something she can hear on long trips--and that is mostly spent on the highway. Feeling guilty with my SESG sounds.........Need ideas.......

Anybody?

Get her a Schuberth helmet with the Cardo Scala headset and she can Bluetooth all of her tunes from her I phone.  The Pandora app works great too.

If you both had them, you would have intercom between bikes.

Both of us wear 1/2 helmets......she wears 3/4 sometimes on trips since the visor works for the rain.....

And do I really want to talk between bikes :huepfenlol2:

I'm like you.  I wear a half helmet also.  I always felt the full face was too confining and hot in the summer.  Wife likes hers and she says it works good for her tunes.

I use ear buds all the time.  Fit under any helmet, and some seal well, so they block a lot of outside noise.  Can use louder pipes and still hear all frequencies of music, and not as tiring on longer rides, especially on highway.

Use them with her choice of player: phone, satellite radio, am/fm, mp3, whatever.  Lots of mounts for handlebars, windshields, etc.

That is what she is doing now........it's starting to look like that is the best option as I can't find handlebar speakers that will do the job. I have even thought about a fairing for the bike.....

Has anybody tried this?? I know it's more money, but the install looks nice....
