Used to use Heli-Coil's, as stated/mandated on the drawing, at the point of original manufacturing when building aluminum component parts for McDonnell-Douglas, and have a huge assortment of those here that has been aquired over the years. They work very well, installed correctly.
As John mentioned, we also machined a fixture to allow those to be installed and 100% 90*, to the case deck surface, years ago, on both the X and Y axis.
Another option that we have used here with great results, are the Full-Torque Thread Repair Inserts.
