Have used this stuff for years, and it has saved me twice from being stranded out on the road.  Discovered screws in the tire during a normal inspection. Had not lost any air.  Since I do a lot of long-distance riding, this is definitely worth it to me.  The indy who changes my tires was concerned about the "mess" which most of these sealants leave on the wheel, etc., but he was very pleasantly surprised.  Not a mess.  What little is on the wheel just wipes off with a rag.

Thank you. I'm thinking of doing this and was concerned about the tire change issues mentioned here along with the effect it might have on the wheels. Sounds like you haven't had any issues and it actually works. Any problems with wheel balance?

I have had no issues with wheel/tire balancing after installation.  From what I have read, it is supposed to help.  don't know if that is true or not, but no issues in any event.

"Ride On" wheel balancer and sealant
« Reply #18 on: April 19, 2014, 10:18:58 PM »

Has anyone any experience using this product called Ride-On? It is identified as a Tire Protection System as it both balances the tire and is a sealant. View product info at: www.ride-on.com.
I have just put the first 180 km on my 2014 CVO and am considering using this product. I have no issue with tire balance at this point; in fact, there are no weights on either the front or rear wheels at this point. But, at some point, there will be tires replaced and it sure would be nice not to have lead weights stuck onto these nice chrome chisel wheels!
I hope anyone with personal experience using this product will share that experience.

It  was sold to my by a local Indy shop and the salesman said he used in his rice burner tires. So, I tried it and been using for about 2 years. No Problems so far, but he said that it takes a little cleaning when you replace the tires. He is also the ones that does my tire work so, no issues... :2vrolijk_21:

Well fixing a flat on a tubeless tire is no big deal, takes all about 10 minutes including inflating the tire back to proper pressure again.  (That assumes a normal flat with intact sidewalls, like picking up a nail or two).

I carry a plug kit and a compressor with my tool kit.

I personally would not pour that stuff in my tires but to each his own.

Another product that gives people a false sense of security IMHO, leading to less actual inspection and maintenance of their tires.  As noted above, an actual nail or screw stuck in the tread is easily repaired on the road with a simple plug kit and inflator.  Anything more serious, like a cut from road debris, a large puncture from something that doesn't stay in the hole, or a complete blowout, isn't going to benefit from that stuff.  And the claims that it balances the tire are nebulous at best.

I have not personally used it, but ride with someone who has and they've had great results with it balancing the tires.  Don't think it will work with tires/wheels that are way out of balance just like the DynaBeads that have that limitation.  I've heard a lot of trucking outfits use it also.  Maybe it only works if you believe in it. :o  har.  spyder

Thanks everyone for your response(s). Nothing like input from other riders! I am looking to this product more for the balancing than for the sealant properties. I too, have only had one flat in all my years of riding so that is a minor consideration.
There is a large firm in the USA that rents motorcycles (only Harleys?) name something like Eagle Rider that, I understand, now uses Ride-On in all their bikes tires. Results indicate longer tire life and less repair time.
Also, like someone else said, there are more and more truck fleets using this stuff with good results.
The product, according to the manufacturer, is inert and will not effect any type of metal with corrosion or rust.
So, I am still left unsure whether to use or not. The temptation is to wait until near the end of a tire's life, insert the product and find out for myself if there is any benefit and/or deleterious result. Thanks again!
