2014 SERK windshield mod
« on: May 16, 2014, 04:51:40 PM »

Today I have finally (after 3000 miles and 6 weeks) received my windshield back from the shop. Here is what it looks like now. Detailed report is coming tomorrow when I hopefully test it on the highway. What do y'all guys think?

I like the adjustable feature, but looks kind of bulky

Its function over form, I guess.
In person it does not look so bad. I chose the angles for pics so to show more details.
Does not really look bad at all and the best thing – IT WORKS! Yesterday I made like 100 miles on highway with it up to 90 mph. The wind goes over my helmet now and I got some wind protection for hands as well.
The weather is cold here these days and its raining every day so wind protection is welcome.
I noticed two things – the air that hits me is much "cleaner", or smoother, now, and there is less wind noise. Also the vent (mail slot) effect is now more pronounced.
Here is some reading as to the idea behind this mod. First I tried to buy from them, but they wanted me to send my shield in. As I am in Europe this did not work so I made my own.

I would not say its bulky. Its 25,9 inch at the widest point. Classic RK shield is 23,1 inch wide.
