Is it time to get the LED out?
« on: May 09, 2014, 02:38:52 AM »

 :worthless:
I have an '05 SE Electra glide.  I've been looking at going to the LED, but I'm a bit of a quandary.
A few people I've talked with who've h ad it done.  Both said also that the beam shape is so well defined that you loose a bit of the peri feral...which, when driving home in the dark, is where the deer about to jump into your path

I'm wondering if I might have at least temporary countermeasure for addressing this issue. Change out the headlight to lED, but not change the passing lights, this way the less rigid illumination path of the passing lights seem like they might offset it enough that there becomes a good meshing of technologies!

Please discuss.

Use one of the brands that use reflector technology rather than projector.  Folks with the Trucklight LED headlights have posted that they don't have the same sharp cutoff that the Daymaker users complain about.  See this thread for instance:

There are other threads on the site that discuss the differences in the LED headlights, try a search.
