CVO radio in standard bike?
« on: May 20, 2014, 08:22:11 PM »

Is the stock 2012 CVO Road Glide radio plug and play in a 2009 street glide? I have a friend that upgraded his on his CVO and another friend with an '09 Stock SG, I say yes but not sure?

Hopefully Iron Cross will chime in, but I'm pretty sure it's a plug in install. Even the IPOD function isn't a flash as far as I know, I thought it was an external interface like the XM module or CB module. I put one from a 2010 Street Glide in my 2011.5 CVO Ultra Classic because his backlighting had already been changed to the blue I wanted and all I had to do was get the fade control enabled by the dealer after I installed it.

I think the same head unit was used from '06 thru '13

They are interchangeable, 'put the HK from a '12 RGC into the '09 SERG, the HK from the '09 is now in a Skunk, 'just have the fade flashed if you need it.

It is an external module. I've seen mine when I've had my fairing off a few times.
