Radio issue on my 2013
« on: May 25, 2014, 08:39:32 PM »

Was riding today an my radio just quit.  Turned it off then back on, it worked for about 2 minutes then quit again.  I toggled the speaker switch In to the middle position an it started playing. This lasted only 2 min. then quit again.  I could go back an forth with the switch an each time it would work for 2 min.  I shut it off an road the last 80 miles to the house.  When I went back out a couple hours later to wipe the bike down I tried it again.  This time no sound comes out at all.  Anyone have a clue what's wrong?

The MOCO will replace it with a reconditioned radio! That is their policy as I know from experience.

The replacement has worked for 2.5 years!

Going thru exact same thing now on my '11 SESG w 3700 miles. To say I'm pissed off is putting it mildly.

Called my dealer this morning.  T
Hey said that harley has been having a lot of problems with last years radio.  There are solder joints that once they heat up they open then cool off an are fine.  They order a replacement today. Also I noticed that when I lock they bike with the remote then return an unlock with the remote everything unlocks but the forks.  I had to use the key to unlock them.  Don't know if that is a seperate issue or due to the radio issue.

If it's out of warranty send it to Iron Cross - maybe even if it is in warranty - that way it will be fixed...

Glad they're sending you a new unit, but the dealer fed you a line.
There are no inherit issues with the 13's...certainly no solder joint issues.

It's not part of the radio issue.  It is a common problem however with the central locking system, and you are definitely not the first or only person to have that problem.
